Mola Mola Safaris is a Walvis Bay based company specialising in day activities offered to visitors to the coast of Namibia.

We have been operating since 1992 when we first concentrated on fishing charters.
Later we decided to turn to Dolphin Cruises when we discovered what an interesting source of marine life occurred in the bay area of Walvis Bay that was also possible to market as an attraction for the town.
Today there are approx. 17 000 people who do the Dolphin Cruise with Mola Mola every year, making it one of the most popular tours in the country.

We now own 6 boats, operating 7 days a week.
Our boats have all been custom built in South Africa, with safety and comfort a main priority. All boats are catamarans which are more stable in the water, have a covered cabin area, comfortable seating, and a chemical toilet.

Safety aspect is of utmost importance - boats are surveyed annually, up to date radio and navigational equipment is used, and skippers go through intensive training as guides and to qualify for their tickets. Numbers on boats strictly adhered to, to prevent overloading.
All skippers speak English, Afrikaans, and German.

Three of our boats, Misty, Sandy, and Gambit are named after the 3 dolphins that were captured in the Walvis Bay lagoon in the 1970's and taken to South African dolphinariums.

The other 3 boats Flipper, JoJo and Olin are named after well known dolphins found elsewhere in the world.
We have a 99% success rate of Heavyside Dolphin sightings, and 75% for the Atlantic Bottlenose. The Heavyside Dolphin is endemic to the Benguella Current.

We operate the business from our offices situated close to the Yacht Club in Walvis Bay. There is plenty of information available from Megan in the office, as well as photo albums, books, and video footage. Enjoy the best coffee in town in our adjoining coffee shop named "Dolphins"!

Mola Mola is the name of the enormous Sunfish that is often sighted on our tours, a fish that can reach a size of 3 000 kg!
Mola Mola Safaris is owned and run by Neels and Megan Dreyer who have worked in the tourism industry in Namibia for over 20 years. We have a love and passion for Namibia's sea and desert that we want to share with you, the visitor to Walvis Bay.

Mola Mola Safaris is registered with the Namibian Tourism Board which sets pre-scribed standards for tour operators in Namibia.
